RBC Economics has called Canada’s Road to Net Zero a 2 Trillion Dollar opportunity. The transition to Net Zero will take place rapidly between now and 2050, or Canada and the world will face irreversible consequences of climate change. Communities of all sizes, in both urban and rural settings, will need to adapt their infrastructure, energy systems, and transportation systems while traditional industries undergo fundamental transformation. These changes will have major consequences for the economic development activities and incentive structures that all levels of government and for businesses and jobs in every sector.

Colin Guldimann joined RBC in 2019 as an economist. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Ottawa, and Master of Arts in Economics from the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining RBC, Colin worked on mortgage, housing, and economic policy at the Department of Finance Canada.

Colin will discuss the scale of capital mobilization that will be needed in Canada over the years ahead to reach Net Zero. He will share thoughts and ideas about the policy directions that are likely for governments to take, and implications for communities that want to capitalize on new opportunities.

In this webinar, you will learn more about the process of electrification and how it can drive growth for your region.
