Vaughan Events at a Glance

The Vaughan Events at a Glance initiative was developed at the beginning of 2024 to provide a centralized, easy-to-navigate quarterly overview of events, festivals, and cultural activations across Vaughan. The two primary objectives were to support tourism, economic development, and community engagement by:

  • Equipping local businesses, stakeholders, and tourism partners with a concise, visually organized tool to promote and align with upcoming events.
  • Providing event organizers with a way to promote vendor market opportunities and/or sponsorship opportunities with direct contact information to minimize email spam.

Through this initiative, the goal was to increase collaboration amongst stakeholders, improve visitor planning, and enhance visibility for Vaughan’s diverse event offerings, regardless if those events were new, paid or unpaid, or for a limited time.

Since its launch, the document has become a go-to resource for tourism operators, event organizers, and hospitality partners. Hotels, in particular, have copies available for all front desk staff and concierges to assist with visitors’ needs. The most recent edition, released in March 2025, featured over 40 events, including art exhibitions, food festivals, family-friendly programs, and international conferences. The initiative was distributed on five separate occasions in 2024 with an average distribution of 60 individuals per release. As of 2025, this initiative is now shared with all business directory listings on VisitVaughan.ca, which includes restaurants, attractions, boutique shops, spas and outdoor facilities. This has increased distribution to over 250 individuals per release.

One of the primary challenges was curating a document that was both comprehensive and digestible. Early iterations were text-heavy and lacked visual hierarchy. In response, Tourism Vaughan redesigned the layout to include clear headings, consistent formatting, and embedded hyperlinks to VisitVaughan.ca for real-time updates. A new section was added in 2025 to highlight major Greater Toronto Area events with the potential to draw overnight visitors to Vaughan, expanding the document’s strategic value. This addition was based on feedback from our hospitality stakeholders, who requested assistance with planning for attendee overflow from Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, and Markham.

The primary audience includes tourism stakeholders, local businesses, hospitality providers, and event organizers. The document is designed to help our local tourism stakeholders actively engage in tourism promotion, business development, and community programming.

What sets Vaughan Events at a Glance apart is its hybrid function as both a marketing tool and a strategic planning resource. It combines curated content with actionable insights, including sponsorship opportunities, social media handles, and contact information, enabling stakeholders to engage directly with event organizers. The inclusion of keywords and categories enhances usability, while the integration with VisitVaughan.ca ensures the document remains dynamic and connected to Vaughan’s broader digital ecosystem.

Vaughan Events at a Glance enables Vaughan’s tourism stakeholders to better connect, collaborate, and foster community pride. By streamlining access to event information and supporting sustainable tourism practices, it exemplifies excellence in economic development marketing.
