Team Lethbridge is an advocacy initiative organized by Economic Development Lethbridge where organizations in Lethbridge travel to Edmonton every two years to meet and discuss the benefits of Lethbridge with the provincial government. The 8th mission was held in November of 2024 and 50 community leaders from 19 local and regional organizations took part in the 3-day trip to the Alberta Legislature.
One key marketing piece is a Leave Behind Brochure that is delivered to Ministers, MLA’s and their staff members to help showcase Lethbridge and how both the government and our community can benefit of we work collaboratively.
The design we chose, used a dye cut brochure cover and the page underneath highlighting some of the key industries and benefits of Lethbridge and the surrounding region. The purpose of this item is to leave each person who views the brochure with a positive, memorable accent piece that influences them to keep Lethbridge and the individuals they meet with top of mind. The brochure highlights key industries like agriculture and manufacturing. Lethbridge’s access to water and irrigation systems as well as opportunities for alternative energy. Other images pay tribute to the High Level Bridge and Post Office in downtown Lethbridge, both well-known city landmarks.
The brochure also highlights Lethbridge’s resiliency, forward thinking and collaboration to members of the government, and that those traits can be expected from our community on any pilot projects or initiatives the government may have, as it says on the front cover of the brochure “Working Together for a Stroger Alberta” truly is the mindset of Team Lethbridge.
Team Lethbridge missions have led to numerous collaborations with the provincial government including.
One of the challenges we often face is keeping these Leave Behind Brochures unique and memorable. A simple change from the last mission to years past is the brochure was printed bigger than normal which made it more readable and useful for other Team Lethbridge events leading up to and during the groups time in Edmonton.
The brochure was given to all Team Lethbridge attendees as a reminder as to why meeting with elected officials on behalf of our residents is so important and that the mission is intended to be for the good of the community and not the needs of any particular organization attending. The colour scheme of the Lethbridge: Brighter Together community brand was used to help emphasize that this is a Lethbridge brochure, with Lethbridge opportunities, and Lethbridge colours and the message being delivered was Lethbridge specific.
