Marketing Reinvented: AI as the New Front Door to Entrepreneurship

Submitted ByEconomic Development Lethbridge

This project reimagines how entrepreneurial supports are marketed, accessed, and experienced. Through Economic Development Lethbridge (EDL), the Regional Innovation Network of Southern Alberta (RINSA), and partners Digiole, we launched three AI-powered Virtual Assistants that serve as dynamic marketing assets—engaging entrepreneurs and advisors through always-on, interactive support. These tools streamline access, elevate our digital presence, and ensure inclusive, empowering guidance for all, regardless of background, location, or learning style.:

  1. The Entrepreneurial Strategy Assistant is a public-facing guide that walks founders through the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and Value Proposition Canvas (VPD)—powerful visual tools that help entrepreneurs zero in on who they serve, the value they deliver, and how they’ll grow their business. It transforms complex planning into an interactive, intuitive journey.
  2. The Business Advisor Resource Assistant equips business advisors with an instant, intelligent search companion—helping them locate funding options, program details, and tools with pinpoint accuracy. It eliminates guesswork and speeds up the path to tailored client support.
  3. The RINSA Intelligence Assistant is trained on the operational knowledge of RINSA and acts as a digital extension of the RINSA Manager—answering internal queries by our team of business advisors,

These AI tools aren’t hidden in the backend—they’re front and center in our marketing. We feature them in presentations, national conferences, and digital campaigns to showcase how AI can democratize entrepreneurial support across all learning styles, cultures, and regions.

Effectiveness / Meeting Objectives
These AI tools aren’t buried in the backend—they’re at the forefront of our marketing strategy. We highlight them in presentations, demo them at national conferences, and make them central to our digital campaigns. More than just tools, they’re storytelling platforms that demonstrate how AI can make entrepreneurial support more inclusive, accessible, and empowering—across learning styles, cultures, and geographies.

Challenges & Changes Made
The primary challenge was gaining trust—in the technology and its purpose. We addressed this by aligning the AI voices with our brand tone: tech-forward, human-centred, inclusive. Through live demos, internal campaigns, and responsive iterations, we brought people along with us. We worked with a leading AI company in Finland to ensure quality and integrity, and we continually adapt the tools based on user feedback.

Target Audience
Our audience includes entrepreneurs in all stages, with a focus on rural, BIPOC, Indigenous, and newcomer communities; business advisors and innovation managers across Alberta; and ecosystem leaders across Canada. These tools reflect and serve a broad spectrum of communication styles and cultural experiences.

We officially launched the AI Assistant at the High Level Conference in Lethbridge, AB  in May 2025 as a presentation, QR code handouts, and a live walkthrough, which generated entrepreneur leads and was shared across social platforms.”

Sustainability
This initiative is built for the future. These tools will evolve as AI capabilities grow, continuing to market our region as a hub of intelligent, inclusive entrepreneurship. By embedding our brand voice directly into the experience, we’re not only sustaining our outreach—we’re redefining it. This is not just a marketing project. It’s a movement. And we are proud to be leading it.
