Huron-Kinloss Investment Bus Tour

The Economic Development Team hosted a familiarization tour through Huron-Kinloss to showcase investment opportunities and why Huron-Kinloss is a great place to invest! We invited members from Ontario Certified Site, Invest Ontario, Bruce County, Bruce Power, NII – Nuclear Innovation Institute, OCNI – Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries, our business community representatives, Developer’s and Investor’s on the tour. We value all our partners and think it’s important for them to see Huron-Kinloss first hand, to help us promote everything Huron-Kinloss has to offer.

We spent the morning giving our partners a firsthand look at all the reasons why Huron-Kinloss is open for business. The tour began in Ripley by showcasing a local coffee company – Coastal Coffee; attendees heard from the Owner about why he chose this area to set up his business, then we boarded a Great Canadian Coach and began the tour. The tour was guided by Michelle Goetz, Manager of Strategic Initiatives and made stops at the newly serviced Ripley Industrial Park, our downtowns, multiple newly approved residential subdivisions and points of interest throughout the community. We heard from property owners and Realtors about property highlights and upcoming projects and finished the tour at FIG Studio Kitchen, a 5 star restaurant in Downtown Ripley.

We had over 30 attendees on the tour and ensured key staff were onboard to answer any technical and financial information about the properties. Our Chief Administrative Officer, Director of Public Works and Business and Economic Officer joined the Manager of Strategic Initiatives along with members of Council and our Mayor.

The day concluded with an exchange of business cards after a very successful networking lunch. Attendees were asked if they found the day worthwhile and some of the responses we received included:
