City of Moose Jaw – Get A Life Videos

In 2021, Moose Jaw City Council identified a priority for the Economic Development team: market our quality-of-life advantages.

We started with the question “when someone lives in Moose Jaw, what do they get?” As we laid out the reasons, from “more house for less money” to “more time” to “more activities for their families”, we realized that you “get” all the things that add up to a #NotoriouslyTerrific quality of life.

In short, when you live in Moose Jaw you can “Get A Life”.

Campaign goals:

  • Tell our story to those who live outside of Moose Jaw.
  • Tell a story that resonates with Moose Jaw residents, as they are our best ambassadors and can be influential in selling our city to others.
  • Convert campaign viewers into residents.
  • Execute the campaign on a modest budget. Including video creation, design, promotional items and advertising, approximately $20,000.00 was allocated to the “Get A Life” campaign in 2022.

On July 28, 2022, the “Get A Life” campaign was launched at the Regina International Airport, bolstered by two Get A Life videos reinforcing the key messages.

In April 2023, we began a social media campaign featuring 15-second Get A Life videos, and have focused our efforts in the Regina area.

(Campaign stats are attached.)

As of July 31, the URL had received 5,167 page views.

The City of Moose Jaw was able to engage our community for the Get A Life video campaign. The campaign did not just feature local landmarks, but Moose Jaw residents, businesspeople, newcomers and the mayor.  Those that were featured helped share the video content across their personal networks.

Sustainable Practices:

We were able to create a series of 15-second videos by repurposing much of the footage used in the launch videos.
