Certified Economic Developers (Ec.D.) are required to recertify every three years to maintain their designation. Recertification is based on continued professional development, ongoing practice in the profession, and continued EDAC membership.
To recertify, members must demonstrate eligible continuing education activities worth 5 points, which may include attendance at EDAC Annual Professional Development Conferences, EDAC-accredited continuing education programs, and relevant regional or local seminars and conferences. In some cases, supporting documentation may be required for activities that are not widely publicized.
A portion of recertification points must come from EDAC and/or Provincial & Territorial Association professional development activities.
