Metro Vancouver is a federation of 21 municipalities, one Electoral Area and one Treaty First Nation that collaboratively plans for and delivers regional-scale services. Regional Economic Prosperity is a new service of Metro Vancouver organized to advance shared economic prosperity, livability and sustainability in Canada’s Pacific Gateway. With a focus on attracting strategic investment that generates significant economic, employment, environmental and community benefits that improve the long-term competitiveness of the region, the Regional Economic Prosperity service works in collaboration with key partners including member jurisdictions of Metro Vancouver, First Nations, key regional partners as well as federal and provincial ministries and agencies active in investment attraction. The result is a comprehensive, customized service for companies wishing to conduct business in a vibrant expanding region with a strong and talented workforce in one of the world’s most livable regions.

The Manager, Strategic Investment is a newly created position, and is the lead representative and manager for attraction of inbound investments, such as firms, headquarters and capital for the Metro Vancouver Region. Working closely with regional, provincial and federal partners, the Manager, Strategic Investment leads the teams responsible for developing and implementing attraction protocols. They execute strategies that target, attract and facilitate new strategic investment, and are also responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of the Regional Economic Prosperity Service strategic investment function including the development, operation and management of a highly functional Customer Retention Management system to curate and track attraction and investment leads. In addition, the Manager will lead a team of professional staff.

You are skilled at collaborating with a variety of diverse partners and constituents to achieve mutually beneficial goals, and are recognized as a credible and strategic professional. You bring a solid working understanding of the policy and infrastructure levers that support economic growth, as well as an ability to effectively prioritize based on the strengths and goals of the region. As a superior communicator and relationship builder, you understand the complexity of working in a multi-constituent environment and excel at bringing partners into the fold to achieve shared objectives.
