Reporting to the City Manager, the Director leads in the planning and execution of Mississauga’s Economic Development Strategy and positions the City as a preferred destination with an educated workforce, affordable office space and a forward-thinking growth agenda. Working closely with Mayor and Council and the City’s Leadership Team on larger goals and priorities, you bring best-practices and people and budget management to your Economic Development Office. Be a champion and a principal relationship developer with major prospects and senior executives in support of the Business Attraction and Business Retention programs. Lead the City’s expansion of its economic development agenda to respond to the demands of the globally competitive knowledge-based economy.
With your degree and Ec.D. or CEcD designation, you have at least ten years of economic development experience with five years in a senior management role. You’ve demonstrated your ability to network, develop relationships, and produce results.
