Reporting to the City Manager, the Deputy City Manager (DCM), Planning and Economic Development is accountable for providing the vision, strategic direction, and overall management of the Planning and Economic Development Service Area with responsibility to ensure all legislative requirements pertaining to this Service Area are met by the Corporation. The DCM will design and deliver programs and services that shifts the mindset and behaviours necessary for creating an efficient and effective way of working together in business areas such as: Planning and Development, Economic Services & Supports, Building, Municipal Compliance, Municipal Housing Development, and Tourism London.

Along with your University degree in Planning, Engineering, Architecture, or related field, you have a minimum of 15 years of senior leadership and management experience in a complex unionized organization. You have an exceptional ability to grasp abstract concepts and ideas and have demonstrated successful experience in integrating services and leading large complex projects. Politically astute and consultative, the DCM will have a reputation for being an effective listener and fair decision maker.
