Purpose

The 2025 Sales Booklet was developed as a strategic investment attraction tool by Burlington Economic Development and Tourism (BEDT). The booklet provides site selectors, investors, and business leaders with a comprehensive overview of Burlington’s competitive advantages, key sectors, infrastructure, workforce, and quality of life. The goal was to create a visually compelling and information-rich resource that supports relocation, expansion, and site selection decisions while aligning with Burlington’s broader economic development strategy.

Effectiveness / Meeting Objectives

The Sales Booklet has successfully met its objectives by providing a compelling, data-driven overview of Burlington’s competitive advantages, key sectors, infrastructure, and vibrant quality of life. Its engaging visuals and strategic messaging have significantly increased engagement during site tours and investment meetings, helping investors to quickly and confidently understand Burlington’s unique value proposition. By showcasing inspiring success stories rooted in Burlington, the booklet has empowered a more unified and persuasive pitch that resonates with corporate decision-makers. Seamlessly integrated into concierge packages and investor follow-up communications, it has proven instrumental in generating new business leads, strengthening relationships with potential investors, and solidifying Burlington’s reputation as a thriving, investment-ready destination.

Challenges & Changes Made

One of the primary challenges was transforming a vast array of economic and lifestyle data into a concise, digestible, and visually engaging format. To overcome this, BEDT collaborated across departments to refine messaging, incorporate impactful infographics, and spotlight key statistics for quick, at-a-glance understanding. Special emphasis was placed on creating a cohesive narrative and a modular design that allows sections to be customized for different audiences, ensuring the booklet remains both versatile and engaging.

Demographically diverse, this audience spans established firms to scaling ventures—each seeking persuasive reasons, data-driven insights, and strategic support to consider Burlington as their next location for growth.

Sustainability Considerations

The booklet was designed for digital-first use to reduce print and material waste, hosted on the InvestBurlington.ca website and embedded in follow-up email communications. Content development focused on presenting data clearly and accurately, minimizing unnecessary duplication and ensuring information is easy to understand for diverse audiences. The messaging embodies Burlington’s environmentally conscious, sustainability-focused mindset, emphasizing the city’s dedication to responsible growth and innovation, with long-term goals like achieving net carbon neutrality by 2050 highlighting its forward-thinking approach. The booklet also features a success story showcasing an innovative local company, Cultivated B, which champions sustainable practices—illustrating how Burlington supports businesses that blend innovation with a commitment to positive change.
