Title: PATIOLICIOUS 2022 – TASTE & TOAST TO COLLINGWOOD’S GREAT OUTDOORS

 Promoting Collingwood Patiolicious 2022

  1. Objectives of the program

Patiolicious was created in 2020 in the early days of the pandemic to help the thriving Collingwood restaurant industry survive by promoting outdoor dining at local restaurants. It also served as a morale booster for the community providing residents an opportunity to pull together, support local businesses and socialize safely. So successful was the 2020 program, we repeated it in 2021, and again in 2022.

  1. 2021 and 2022 Patiolicious Programs

    The initial reach of the program in 2020 included only independently owned restaurants and was concentrated in the downtown. To expand the number of participating businesses, the 2021 and 2022 programs broadened the geographic footprint to include locations outside of the downtown core, increasing to 31 restaurants including franchise and chain outlets providing options for all budgets.

  2. VIDEO PROMOTION

Town of Collingwood and the Collingwood BIA (Business Improvement Association) partnered to produce a Patiolicious video each year, sharing the costs of production and distribution. We were also successful in applying for a grant from Simcoe County which allowed us to expand distribution both locally and in the GTA by incurring minimal cost. (Cost less than $2k to produce and distribute).

The video message tagline ‘Taste & Toast to Collingwood’s Great Outdoors’ encouraged the audience to ‘Explore a fresh way of experiencing the taste of Collingwood at one of our many restaurants, eateries, cafes and craft breweries on their expanded patios in our historic downtown, at the waterfront and along our many hiking and biking trails.’  They could celebration patio season and Patiolicious by choosing their outdoor experiences from more than 25 participating locations at www.Patiolicious.ca (we have 31 locations in 2022), and messaging informed the audience on the tourism highlights in our area.

Distribution platforms included Experience Collingwood on Facebook (19k users), Instagram (10.5k users) via email to our local business database (2.5k) and our website www.Patiolicious.ca
