When it comes to building a strong local economy, talent is everything. The Haldimand Workforce Attraction Campaign set out to show that opportunity isn’t something you have to chase in the big city — it’s already here. This campaign was all about shining a light on the real people, real stories, and real opportunity in Haldimand County.
Developed by Banko Creative Studio in partnership with Haldimand County’s Economic Development team, the campaign had two clear goals: increase awareness of local employment opportunities and position the region as a great place to work across a range of sectors. Through authentic interviews and engaging business features, the campaign invited residents and nearby jobseekers to take a second look at what’s right in their backyard. The message was simple: Think Haldimand County when it comes to your next job or career.
The creative approach leaned heavily on storytelling. We featured local employers and employees in healthcare, agriculture, and technology, each with a personal take on what makes working in Haldimand rewarding. These weren’t polished testimonials, they were real, unscripted moments of pride, purpose, and possibility.
The campaign was built with flexibility in mind. A series of videos were crafted for multi-platform use, including the BusinessHaldimand.ca landing page, social-ready cutdowns and matching articles. Its rollout was strategically timed to align with the County’s seasonal job fair, creating a strong push toward employer visibility and jobseeker engagement when interest was already high.
We paired this with targeted LinkedIn ads aimed at working-age individuals from 18 to 65, whether they were just starting out, mid-career, or considering a change. And we didn’t stop at the County line. Our outreach extended into nearby regions like Hamilton, Brantford, Norfolk County, and the Niagara area, where commute-weary professionals might be ready for something closer to home.
Results were strong and measurable. The LinkedIn campaign delivered over 100,000 impressions and more than 700 clicks, driving awareness and action toward Haldimand’s job market. More than half of that reach came from the Greater Hamilton area, a key commuter corridor, with additional traction in the Niagara region. Local employers reported increased visibility and interest, and the campaign helped strengthen the County’s profile among high-quality prospects from major institutions like McMaster, Mohawk, and Hamilton Health Sciences.
Sustainability also played a key role. The campaign was digital-first to reduce waste, and built around evergreen content that Haldimand can use well beyond the initial push. The campaign also supports economic sustainability: keeping jobs local, reducing commuter emissions, and helping small and medium-sized businesses thrive by connecting them with the talent they need.
But beyond the numbers, the real success is in reframing how people see work in Haldimand. It helped to build pride, shift perceptions, and show the real potential of working in Haldimand County. And that’s a message we’re proud to share.
